Default Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder 2008 GS Convertible top beeps even though top is closed

I have two problems with my Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder 2008 GS convertible.
  1. The convertible top pistons are leaking hydraulic fluid and therefore the top doesn't open and close. I took it to a mechanic in order to fix it, but that mechanic made it even worse. After doing the diagnosis, he basically jammed the top shut in a wrong way and probably broke a sensor and now the car thinks the top is open and beeps all the time. Is there a way to fill in the hydraulic fluid temporarily so that I can get the top to work a couple of times and try to get the beeping to stop?
  2. As mentioned above the top, even though closed, beeps constantly because one of the sensors is tripping and it thinks the top is open. So each time I start my car from a full stop, the convertible top beeps. Is there a way to disable the sensor so that it doesn't beep all the time? I had read in a couple of posts that a) the center console can be removed to disable the sensor https://www.club4g.org/threads/disab...e-beep.123254/
b) there is a sensor in the trunk that can be deactivated https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/Discussion-c7307_ds605911

but I would like more detailed steps or pictures. Removing the sensor is just a temporary fix till I find a more competent mechanic.
