Hi, this is my first time on here so cut me a little slack. Also as much as i am interested in cars, i am not very knowledgeable on them.

i have a 2006 Eclipse 4-cyl automatic that i bought used after i got stationed in california. i have tried googling various performance upgrades, but every site says their parts are the best and they guarantee 1-60hp increase blah blah blah. i dont want to be scammed.
i am going to attend Wyo Tech in Sac, CA once i get outta the marines, so i do have a plan to actually learn more about cars, but until then i do want to make my car a little faster. also better on gas mileage if possible.

any suggestions?
