Gear issues after changing stereo
 

I have a 2007 outlander with Rockford system. I recently changed the head unit for a new Chinese one because the old one stopped working.

My issue is that when I put the car in drive now the display shows reverse. The engine revs and I get a Japanese warning on the dash. Can anyone tell me why it's suddenly started doing this and how to fix it please
