I am new to the boards, and to imports. I just bought an 00' Mitsubishi Eclipse GT, and it was a hail damage salvage special, I have no card with the code for the stereo. I took the cover off and got the S/N from the stereo.

If you could give me that code and tell me how to reset the radio so it gives me more chances to enter a code that would be great! thanks.

P.S., I called about 10 dealers around the country and some were about to give me the codes but they closed. One guy refused because he says they get them from a website that cost them money.

 

I would take it to a dealership, I don't know if they would give one to you over the phone because of possible fraud..not saying that, that is what you're trying. Then again, they may charge you for the "maintenance" or "labor", lol. Those two terms in this context is funny, lol.
Worst case is, you can buy an aftermarket radio and put it in there instead...just a thought

 

I went to the dealership the day after I posted this and got the code for free. Of course I bought the Keyless entry remote for $80 and they programmed it for $50 so they probably gave me a little credit for buying something.
