Help! Hose leaking.
 

I went to get an oil and coolant change then the mechanic informed me that my coolant reservoir was MISSING. Sure enough, I looked under the hood and it had been cut off and sealed with a rubber piece and plastic tie. Must have been stolen. I don't know why anyone would steal a coolant reservoir but, hey, crazy world. I had the upper hoses replaced last year so I suspect someone at that shop did the deed. Anyway, I ordered a brand spanking new coolant reservoir and installed it myself. I filled it up and started driving as usual. Then the upper hose leaked from the front clamp to the back clamp. This was the hose I replaced last year. I removed the clamp that hooks to the radiator, jiggied it. I drove it to work and back that night and nothing leaked. This morning I drove it around the block and saw the back of the top hose was leaking rather profusely. Think the hose need to be readjusted or something? There's no heavy coolant smells, no steaming just drip drip from the back of the hose. I would be GRATEFUL for some kind answers! Thanks!

PS: It's 2003 Elipse GT, new water pump, timing belt, been running great, 115,000 miles

The big hose? Think I can do it myself? New clamps, do I need some kind of sealant to hook it to the motor? Or do I just tighten the clamps? Thanks!

I took off the hose. Yep, nice slip on the inside. Think I found the culprit. Got a new one, putting it on tomorrow.

no sealant. Old clamps can probably be re used. Top up your radiator afterwards.

So what was the result? Does anyone post back?

All's well. I drove it a little while, top hoses strted leaking a little, then I tightened it. Hasn't leaked since. Just had to let it get hot enough before I tightened everything. The cold weather may have contributed.
