Default 02 eclipse 2.4l 4cyl. P0340 and P0335

Hey guys new on the forum and new to Mitsubishi, I recently bought an eclipse rs, had a leaking counter balance shaft seal so I replaced that and no oil leak but now car idles weird and when I’m trying to get going In first it dies on me and when I finally get going it just seems like it isn’t going anywhere can’t get past 30mph even if I shift up to 3rd gear. I had both of those codes pop up p0340 and p0335. Tested the circuit and sensors both seem fine. Would a timing slip cause these symptoms? I also did a spark and oil change on it since it sat around for a year (or so the guy said)

Hello Julio ...
You are correct in assuming that a slipped timing belt would created the problem you are having. The two codes you give

p0335= Crankcase Position Sensor "A" - circuit malfunction
p0340= Camshaft Position Sensor "A" circuit malfunction (bank1 )

A slipped belt would obviously throw these two sensors out of line.

Some times we have to bite the bullet and have a professional check out these problems.... Best of luck Julio
