Default 03 Galant that Squeaks

Hi, i just bought a 03 Glant ES about 3 weeks ago. For the last 2 weeks it has been making some kind of sqeaking somewhere in the area of the two front wheels. I compare the sound it makes to a combination of a rusty bike and a rusty swing. Kind of like what Deebo's bike sounds like from the movie Friday. If anyone can give me some info, i would really appreciate it.

I didn't think that it would be the breaks making it squeal if i am not on the break pedal. Sometimes if i am driving down the street at maybe 30-35MPH, it squeaks. Then when i stop at a light it squeaks, than during acceleration it squeaks. When i am on a highway going around 50-60, I can here it squeaking, but it sounds like it is faster and has a higher pitch. When i roll down the window and listen to it when i am driving, it sounds horrible. Like scaping nails on the chalkboard in a big circle.

just because your not on the pedal the brakes can still squeek, it is just a pin on your brake pads scrapping the rotors telling you that your pads are really low, at first it will only do it when you are stopping but as they get worse it will do it more often. Just check the pads and make sure there not too bad.

I find that really strange because sometimes when it is quite, it will start again by cutting the wheel a little bit. And there is also a small popping sound that it makes like the sound of knocking ur knucle once againts a wood computer desk. I'll check the pads and reply on what i see.

I justed looked at it again today. I didn't get to look at my pads, but i did look at the rotor, and i seen small grooves going around the rotor. I know that most rotors are supposed to be smooth so im going to get new pads, than take the rotor to a brake lathe machine at my old school and try to get that fixed. I also think there is more to the problem, but if doing the brakes doesn't help it then i will post again.

wait are the grooves going at an angle or are they in a pirfect circle with the rotor. Cuz if they are at an angle then you just have cross drilled rotors and that is nothing to worry about. That is how they come.

The grooves are in thin little circles, i do know your talkin bout with the angle, i know that it is not that. When i drive i can tell that it is the brakes now becuase somthing must be chipped on the pad or somthin for it to scrape the way it does, and i can hear it scrape with my foot off the brake now.
