1999 Eclipse RS Boiling Coolant

I purchased a 1999 Eclipse RS with the 2.0 litre non turbo from a local dealer. The car has 80k miles on the odometer but seems to be in very good condition. In prepping the car for sale the dealer said he replaced the brakes, belts, wires, plugs and the head gasket. We drove the car a considerable amount before purchase and were satisfied with its performance. It has since begun to boil over and fill the overflow resevoir completely full after about an hour drive. The fuel economy has suffered also going from 26 mpg initially to around 22 mpg. The performance has decreased noticeably. I did purchase a one month warranty on the drivetrain so I am taking the car back to the dealer soon. The puzzling thing is, the temp. gauge does not indicate an overtemp condition, stays in the middle after warmup?? Any help would be appreciated.

sounds to me like the head gasket is blown again. That same thing happened to me once but on a different car.

do you have any noticable smoke either from the engine, vents, or the exhaust?

its taking some of the compressed air and blowing it into your cooling system and pushing
out the coolant, its definatly a head gasket.

Compression is 190 to 200 psi at each cylinder. There is no noticeable smoke or leakage. Now the thing started knocking so I will probably have it towed to the dealer. Thanks!!
