Question AC Issues

I have a 2004 Lancer ES. The system is full of refrigerant. Im pretty sure that the ac compressor is working because of 2 reasons. When I empty the refrigerant the engine RPM drops im assuming thats because the compressor is shutting off, and the refrigerant coming out is VERY cold. The AC button is turned on and lit up. Any ideas? Thank you.

First off you didnt say what was wrong with the a/c. Not cooling, not blowing, cooling a little, blowing hot. If your in the dark about a/c how do you know if the system is fully charged? The compressor clutch will not engage when there is no or low refrigerant. If both radiator fans are not coming on with the compressor, it wont cool properly.

Its not blowing cold air, when you switch to heat the air gets hotter.
Im not sure that its fully carged (preasure in the system was at the correct level and there was no air in the system.) but when pressing the release on the high line refrigerant comes out. The clutch on the compressor is engaging because when you release all of the preasure in the system you engine idle drops around 500 rpm, im thinking this is the clutch disengaging. and the radiator fans are working perfectly with no blades missing.

Your going to have to look at the center of the compressor pulley to see if the compressor is turning. The outer pulley will turn if comp is engaged or not. Im not sure about the idle change, if operating properly the idle should be aprox the same on or off, the idle speed motor keeps it steady. I asume you have gauges on the car, you should run around 250psi on high and 35 to 50 on the low.
