Audio blacked out on multi-communication system?

Audio blacked out on multi-communication system?
Hey all,
Just bought an 08 Mitsubishi Endeavor this weekend. The radio works fine on the car, but on the nav screen audio does not appear. It's just blank where it should be. When you go through the system settings it has an audio portion where you can toggle it on or off, and it is set to off. It is blacked out so it won't let me toggle it on. Not sure if a wire is loose somewhere, but I'm not sure how I can fix this?
Any suggestions would be great!
