'92 Mitsubishi 3000GT 161K miles) Driving on the fwy I heard a pop, gas pedal went to the floor with no gas connection...car died. I coasted to the side of fwy until car stopped. Battery lasted about 1/2 hour before that died as well. Towed car to home. Looking under the hood I saw a belt displaced. See pics attached. Can anyone tell me what is wrong?

 

That is not good. Sorry for the bad news but that is your timing belt. And your motor being interference means that you probably bent some valves also. Basically your gonna need a new timing belt replacement and your gonng need some head work as well
