Premptive detection of codes or cel appearing
#1
can a scanner be used to monitor fuel mixture imbalances b4 it kills the cat?
Is there a way to routinely "DIY" monitor you cars systems to alert you as to a potential problem coming up before lights and codes appear?
Ive noticed (reading only) that IMs on a scanner informs you to combustion/fuel data in terms of range in %. When those % swing out of the allowable % ranges, contaminates (oxides and even blowby & more?)become significant enough to begin fouling the cats and possibly other components.
Can scanners or even code readers give us data we can use to accomplish this preventative smog maintenance?
