Car just flat dies
 

Hello, I have a 1997 Eclipse RS, starts good, runs good but it seems like when shifting in to 3rd gear it flat dies. Changed plug and wires . Can somebody give me some maybes as how to fix this.

im assuming its a manual, so when your shifting does it die when you release the clutch into gear or just when you shift and keep the clutch pressure...........

It dies when ever I have released the clutch and think I'm going someplace

hmm, cam position sensor????? that ones interesting, how many miles on it, maybe need a new clutch?????? have you had the computer read for codes...........

The car has around 80,000 on it . No I haven't had codes read. I really don't know what that is how do I do that? Part of your comment applies to me when it comes to cars. Wanted the clutch slip if it needed a new one or play or something?

generally yea you would know if you need a new clutch, but take your car to local autozone or the like and they can read the computer for you, should do it for free.........
