cd player 2000 eclipse rs

Default cd player 2000 eclipse rs
can ANYONE help me? My factory cd player won't work, when i insert a cd, it tries to read it, then ER 01 comes up, any suggestions? I'm going on a little road trip and would much appreciate having my cd player working for the long drive to florida from new jersey! Please help! <IMG src=smileys/smiley19.gif border="0">

clean the head unit? make sure the cd is good?[sm=smiley20.gif] my best guess is clean the player
