Challenger 2.8 diesel auto - diff oil change

HI:D

I have (stupidly) managed to drain my diff. oil. Please don't ask!
How the hell do you fill it again? I only have the owners handbook,
no manual and there is no reference in the handbook to filling the diff lock
sump up again.

Could anyone tell me whether it would be OK to run the car temporarily,
(without diff lock engaged of course).

And finally, what type of oil is used in the diff lock sump and is there a way
of measuring it's level.

Told you I was naive!

Cheers,

Jacubsuk.

Dont run it without oil. there should be a filler plug to the top left of the diff as you look at it from the rear. its 24mm same as the drain plug. they take any good quuality oil 80-90W only. they take roughly 3.0litres for a 2.8engine.

:) Hi Horners Mits,

Thanks very much for your feedback. Found the filling nut (what a strange position!)
and with the wife's help managed to get it topped up without too much mess.
I have rather lost hope that engine designers have twigged on to the fact that
ease of access to these sort of basic things should be a priority. Ah well Mits, thanks
for rescuing me.

Regards,

Jacubsuk
