My check engine light came on so I went and had it read. The error code said that the 4th cylinder wasnt firing. So i replaced the coil, the spark plugs, and the spark plug wires. The light can on again. The only time I notice a difference in the car is at an idle. The RPM go down to 700 and the car feels like it going to die. Its a 96 GS. Any ideas? Im giving up!

 

first check code again make sureits the same if so
check for vac leak on that runner
check injectors \inj o rings for leak
egr could be stuck open

Actually ~750rpm idle is normal for all model DSM's. A little low can be attributed to the weather sometimes. Is acceleration feel weird? Any strange noises? Also, a quick way to tell if a cylinder isn't firing, check to see if any black smoke is coming from the tail pipe. It'll come as like pulses of smoke, and may be kind of faint, but any black smoke will be the unburned fuel from the misfire. But hey, if garymitsu's suggestions don't find the problem, just come back and we'll try again!
