funky clutch

I just bought a used 99 eclipse GS and the clutch is supp to be brand new. It is acting funky tho....every time i switch gears and push on the accelerator the car jerks like it doesnt have enough power...i know i am switching gears correctly and i dont know why it would be doing this. Also the car idles really weird. When completely stopped it idles at 1rpm then will drop and sound like its about to stall...then raise back up...then drop and so on. I have experience w/ honda clutches but never mitsubishi...i am assuming this is not normal...does anyone have an idea as to whats going on??
THANKS!

RE: funky clutch

check the isc, check your clutch fluid level, were there aftermarket parts on it before i.e.- intake, exahust, did they show you documentation of the new clutch.........

RE: funky clutch

clutch fluid level fine...they didnt show me doc of the new clutch...it is under dealer warranty but the dealer is not mitsubishi...so i am making them pay for me to take it to actual mitsubishi dealership...i will call and check about the aftermarket stuff - i dont think so considering nothing else was aftermarket on the car. The check engine light went on last nite so i figured probably best to get it checked out - i will see about the isc and i am going to make them check and make sure the clutch is new.
Thank u!

RE: funky clutch

it could also be the idle air control valve, i just had my clutch replaced and two days later i got that damn ses light, went back and pulled some codes and got one for the IAC valve, however it hasnt affected my car in anyway yet, but it could be a warning that its about to.........
