to do a color change the right way will cost alot of money. And to have a body kit installed can cost alot as well if it is not of good quality, meaning they need to do fiberglass work to get it done. Just a color change alone (doing everything) would cost around 5-6k. Doing just the outside and jams (which is stupid if your changing color) should cost somewhere around 2k.

once again that will vary widely on the shop that is doing it and the quality of the body kit. Cheapest you could get is maybe $500. Or it could go up to maybe $1000. But i would just call some places because it really depends

Well i remember a while ago a place was advertising on tv saying "paint jobs as low as $400" So i always thought paint jobs where cheaper. Is their any way I could just buy the paint and do it my self?
OR How much does paint cost? Theirs a guy down the road my moms bf knows and he paints cars for a living and could probably paint mine and only charge for paint cost.

not really sure on the cost of the paint. If they would do it for you then im sure it would be alot cheaper. The thing is there are places that will do paint jobs cheap like Maaco. But your getting just that, a cheap paint job thats not going to last and fade quickly.

I just priced having a front bumper painted. Local shop knows me and gives me a discount because I pay cash. Cost of painting the bumper factory gray was $250. Can you do it your self? Well yes, but like the saying goes, you get what you pay for. So if you have never painted and do it youself your costs are going to be paint ($100 or more for a good paint. More if you use a clear coat). You can rent a HPLV spray unit. Probably run you $40 or less. Respirator (DO NOT TRY TO PAINT USING NEW GENERATION PAINTS WITHOUT A RESPIRATOR SPECIFIC FOR THE PAINT).
Then you have a little for sandpaper to color sand and then a buffer to fo the finish. (you can rent these also). If you really want to try this, you can get books at the library and also tips on the internet. I recommend taking one small piece and work on it until you get it right. Then the rest.
Remember, your body shop will charge by how much time they have to spend prepping, sanding and then painting. The more of the prep and sand you can do, the less time they have to and the less the cost.

the cost depends on what color you want, reds and oranges are more expensive, but they would probably run you about 80-100 a pint, then clear coat will probably be about 130ish a pint
