Default Misubishi 2.6 liter

Greetings Though I would take a shot in the dark and ask. I picked up a Generac 30kw generator with a 2.6 liter misubishi engine. I really dont have any info on this engine and of course the factory is NO help. Im trying to figure out if this is a 4g54 and if it is the same engine used in a fork lift or bobcat or something else. If I need parts I know that generac no longer carrys most of them. My only other choice is to try to figure out something else that it is used in. The engine has a generac part # 62245-a. Doesnt do me much good. It is turbo charged and runs on propane. The unit looks very good. 1990 model. Any help would be wonderful. Thanks from Leon

It should be stamped on the block.

the 2.6 is likely the 4g54.
Hardly the most efficient. Can be tuned and run lpg, havent seen a propane but its uncommon down here anyway.

Could be a G54B also.

There should definitely be more markings on it than that.

slight fuken difference. lpg is a combo of flammable ****, including propane. propane is just propane.

Sorry about the propane thing. I guess it is LPG. Around here they just say propane. I dont know why. I have looked and looked for something on the engine and I come up with nothing else. I guess I just hope the thing doesnt give me trouble. Thanks for the try. Leon

yea its probably a matter of vernacular.
I know they run bb guns on propane.
Barbeques on lpg.
I dont know of anything that would be a giveaway, as said, id expect something stamped on the block. You could download a manual for the 4g and do some comparisons. Or post a pic...

Question Generac

Leon I'm in the same position. Generac no help except for very high prices through my dealer.

Did you 2.6 liter engine turn out to be the equivalent to Mit. 4G54 or the second guess G54B.

My water pump went. Appreciate any help.
