Mitsubishi L200 oil leak
Greetings everybody,
I'm a new proud owner of a Mitsubishi L200 K74T (74kw/100cv) Double Cab from 1999. Laugh at it if you want, but this is actually my dream car ;) Also it is actually my first owned car, so excuse all the ignorance regarding even basic maintenance, but hey, a guy gotta start somewhere! So when "messing around" with the oil maintenance, I noticed that the level was low when I bought it, so I added 3L of engine oil to the truck. No problems here. 3 months later (2 days ago), I decided to add more in order to fill it until MAX. Now either I read wrong the dipstick, but now the truck started leaking oil from the left front side, just a above the wheel. Some people said that I overfilled the engine with oil, others say it started leaking because of the use of synthetic oil on an older vehicle. I'm clueless here. I'm afraid that with this I already damaged some engine parts/components. Feel free to ask any additional information about the truck or my actions in order to facilitate the troubleshooting. Thanks! |
