OVERHEATING
 
i have a friend with a 1997 gst his car starting over heating just like that. i went to look at it the fans where working the coolant was toped off the water pump wasnt making any noises. and there where no hoses leaking what could the problem? and it doesnt seem like the head gasket is blown?

Your thermostat could be stuck and not let the coolant through. Check the upper and lower hoses to see if they are both hot then check the return line for heat.

well thanks jenuine your the only one that tryed to help. I found the problem the radiator core was messed up. so they had to change the radiator.

Glad you found the fix! Sorry, would have responded earlier, but just got to this forum.

Also, keep in mind that should you run into the problem again, you should never rely on the coolant overflow bottle to check the level. You should always check the level in the raditaor. Having said that, USE CAUTION! Only remove the radiator cap when the system is STONE COLD. Then you run the engine with the cap off. If you want complete details, you are welcome to read this information on filling your cooling system.
