romoving egr valve

pros and cons of romoving and blocking off egr ports. It will prevent hot air into the intake manifold but i dont want the check engine light to appear, does the egr use a 5 volt reference or is it a potentiometer, what can i do to trick the pcm into thinking the egr is connected and doing its job to prevent the check engine light

RE: romoving egr valve

Your not gonna be able to trick the pcm, if you block the egr valve you'll get slighly cooler air in the intake but you'll have a cel.

People seem to have no idea what an EGR actually does.

All it does is HELP your car. you actually make things much worse without it. You will raise combustion temps sky high, cause pinging, a loss of mileage, and of course pollute more. You do NOT decrease intake temps in any amount that would be beneficial. Its not the intake temp you need to worry about anyway!
Why on earth people think removing it benefits your car in some way is baffling to me.

Keep in mind that when you go to wide open throttle, its SHUT OFF ANYWAY!
