2006 Endeavor Cold Engine Noise
I just purchased a 2006 Endeavor and started it up this morning. The engine was making a very loud, rattling noise when it started up. The noise subsided as the engine warmed up. Is this normal for the engine to make such a noise when it is cold? I have a video attached with the noise. Please help! Thank you!!

That sounds like the death rattle... Collapsed lifter / you will blow your bearings in the rocker arm assembly and ruin your motor.... Bad news pull the heads and redo them...

has that happened? ever? it wouldn't surprise me, on a new vehicle. |
also you dont need to "pull the head" to replace lifters.

Seriously
I took my 05 Endeavor to Mitsubishi Master Mechanic. He called it the death rattle..
Checked the oil by changing it and had brass it the oil. Always used Mobil EP 5-30 and changed at 5000 miles..... |
