4g64....teach me!!

You say 4G64 and I just look at you, im like umm dont you mean b16 or b18 lol. Anyways, im trying to find out what all I can do to make this thing faster. Can I put a dohc head onto the sohc bottom end, will a turbo mani from a 4g63 bolt up. Who sells an aftermarket cam...blah blah blah. Just looking for any and all help. Not trying to make a 500hp motor just something more then the 141stock rating. Also what is the stock 1/4mile of a 97 Eclipse Spyder with the 4g64, i dont wanna hear well depends on the driver and conditions. Im talking stock spec from the factory. I have searched but im coming up with no results.

no, you cannot put a dohc headon a sohc bottom end, the head is much larger and will not bolt up

jp, i think you are thinking of putting a turbo head on a non turbo engine... the block on the dohc is larger and bolts wont line up..

the 4g64 is the spyder non-turbo spyder motor, and you can put the 4g63 head on it

actually yes you can....once agian nick the newbiness is showing. Stop saying stuff when you dont know the true answer because people will believe you.

The 4g63 head will bolt up to the 4g64 block like JP gave you. Also you can turbocharge that engine pretty easily if you wanted. I think the stock 1/4 mile are in the low 16's
