Backup Light Wiring(Lancer 02)

I am having trouble with my reverse lights coming on whenever I shift to fifth gear. They also work in reverse. Is there a reverse light switch somewhere. I have already rep[laced the taillight assy.Any takers?

From:

the reverse sensor is on the tranny. But there may be a wiring issue somewhere also.

Maybe a shortage in a wire or something?
