EVO Performance

Hi guys,

what do you think of the EVO 6's 1/4 mile time? What was the best time you saw from such a car??? Last time I managed to achieve 8,4 sec on 1/8 but I dont know if it is ok or not.

scc magazine ran a 12.8 quarter mile with a stock evo VI, ive seen em hit low 10's but im sure they can do better. 8.4 sec 1/8 is not bad but im sure u could do a little better with the power you're making. what was your 60' time? the launch is very key for awd in the quarter mile and you should try to be under 2 seconds for the 60' time. 1.7 sec is considered prety good. the last time ive been to the track my eclipse was low 13's in the quarter mile and i was getting similar 1/8 times.

thank you for your reply, but I feel ashamed because I don know what do we call 60' time. All I know is that my car can make up to 200 km/h in 12,5 secs. But I guess there's at least one sec in that time due to slow shifting.

No, what he is asking is what is your 60 foot time, in other words how long does it take to get from the tree to 60 feet down the track.

RE: EVO Performance

If it is 0-60 mph which is approx 98 km/h according to my dial, then the answer is approx 3,5 or 3,7 secs. But if it is 60 foot, how much is that??? Well my phone tells me that this is 18,28 metres which is just a big jump in first gear nothing more. Then how can you accurately measure such a short event? I dont have photo cells. Any measurig advice?

since it is such a short distance its hard to measure your 60' time accurately by yourself. when you go to the track to race though after every race they print out a time slip for you that tells you your 1/4 time, 1/8 time, 60' time, and all speeds associated with those. a good 60' time is important to perfect for awd if you want to get a good quarter mile time.

Overall, I'd have to say that I'm really impressed with the Evo. Just make sure that you can shift out at the right moment. A bad shift can put you from winner to loser. Overall, yea, get the 60 measured. but a 1/8 @ 8.4, It could be better(no offense). Are you running stock, or have you put a few G's under the hood of that evo?
