L200 turbodiesel issue
Hello dear mitsu-folk around the world
I have a 2003 L200 turbodiesel 4x4 truck, I recently had it overhaules and the engine runs like a baby when it's warm. Problem is, every morning I start it, it engine ignition is instant, but it runs like a mule kicking for about a minute, throughout that minute, revs stay bouncy and low and white smoke comes out like a bat out of hell... I need to rev it to 1250-1350 rpm a few times until it settles down. Once it settles down it runs smooth as ice, smoke stops completely. Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge with me, I hope I can do the same for more people. Best regards! |
what model engine?
i'd be looking at IAC valves, glow plug circuits. being 2003 it will have some elctrical w*nk too, so reset the computer. |

Since it starts (even cold) on the second crank in the morning i'm guessing that would rule out glow plugs? Also, I don't know if it has an IAC. I'm kinda dreading that it might be the fuel pump :(... It's really mysterious to me that every morning I get hell for 1 minute and then runs like new the while day. About resetting the computer, is it diy? |
I have had to replace a cylinder head on one of these vehicles But my one was overheating badly.thanks for the sharing
