Default What items are required to change timing belt, Montero Sport, 0, 3.5?

I need to purchase all the items required to change the timing belt for a 2002 Montero Sport 3.5.
So far I have a timing beltand tensioner.
Do Ineed a gasket kit?
Are they are any sacrificialparts that must be replaced during this service?

Thank you.

Inspect your water pump while your in there.
I think they have a seal on the timing cover, the front cover gasket.
Timing belt idler pulley also a good idea.
Valve cover gaskets (if you remove the covers to find TDC that way).

Thats all I can think of man.

Have fun!

If I were you, Id look into whatever the 70K mile tuneup includes... (sometimes its right in the book) Which includes at least what you and Josh have listed.

Off the top,the only thing I can add to the list for R&R is the thermostat.
Ive had the timing belt changed 2x at 90 & 100 K
Ive had a mitsu dealer do both. If I remember right it was just over $1500. Done in a day and no screwups. Ive had no valve cover leaks so thats never been done. No other oil seal loeaks in either montero sport....yet. They ea have approx 245k and 145K currently.
