Outlander 2008 2.2 juddering / struggling to accelerate

Apologies if this question is a previous repeat, however my 2008 2.2 outlander has started to judder / choke a little when I'm low revs in a gear and I go to accelerate. Especially when the engine is cold I can stick my foot on the accelerator and it is very un-responsive. When the engine has warmed up a bit it does perform better however it still judders / chokes a little when I go to accelerate at low revs. Has anyone experienced this previously?
