Default Security system+Turbo Timer

Whats up guys, need some more advice. I'm getting a security system plus I want a Turbo Timer installed. Now the issue is that there's security systems out there like the VIPER 791XV and the Hornet 564T which both have built-in turbo timers. Would you recomend that I go for an optional turbo timer or just have the security system function as a timer as well. Thanks

If the alarm includes a Turbo Timer I don't see why you couldn't use it rather than purchasing a separate one. If you purchase a separate Turbo Timer they usually include a couple of extra things like O2 Sensor and A/F readings but it's not really all that important if your not doing major modifications to the car. I purchased and installed an Apexi Turbo Timer but if it could've been included with installing an alarm I would've done it.

I'd be leary of installing a security turbo timer... The systems are SECURITY systems. I wouldn't expect them to know jack shyt about turbo timers and applications. They merely likely downloaded a schematic and figured out a way to splice it in. I'd be more likely to trust someone that knows turbos if you know what I mean...

I went ahead with the process, I actually talked to some people before I did it. The Hornet security system itself is awesome. The turbo timer program works great. Before I shut the car off, I just hit two buttons on the two way receiver/remote then remove the key and the system counts down. I had the turbo timer program run for 3 min, you could also shut it off before the 3 min time duration by pressing a button on the remote. You could watch the time count down on the remote. It works well for when I get on the highway and rush to school and don’t have enough time to allow the car a proper cool down period. I recommend it.
