Default 99 Eclipse GS

Ok I have a 99 Eclipse GS with a 420A engine...and I'm looking to get a cold air intake. What are the pros and cons of a cold air intake? And how hard are they to install?

Please doa search cuz you can find all this very easily. But just to give you some quick answers

Pro's = Increase in hp from around 8-10hp
Cons = being low near the bumper if you go through a big puddle you could submerge the filter letting water into your engine.

Install is one of the easiest things to install on any car

Hey kyguard I have a 97 eclipse with a cold air intake and so far i've loved it! The engineer is right about the puddle thing. But Since I live in Arizona thats no concern for me! If It rains alot where you live you'd be better off with a short ram with a heat shield!

But if you really want a cold air intake you could get a bypass valve with it. so that if you do hit a big puddle it suck in the air through the bypass valve and it wont suck in water.
