EGR delete worth the effort?

Okay so something that evaded me when diagnosing my harlem-shake idle, if the EGR valve is bad that will cause rough idle. I could pick up a new egr valve, probably would need a new solenoid as well with my luck..

If I picked up the EGR delete kit, which is pretty much just a couple block-off plates, would that cause it to continue idling badly? I read that itll give an increase in horsepower and torque, but I also read that about the OBX throttle body spacers, and apparently theyre not worth the time either.

you wont gain HP but your engine will run alot cleaner because it wont recirculate those exhaust gases and you will have less components in the engine bay as well as less things to break, haha.

The only real downfall is emission testing, which some states are very strict on that. But most wont care as long as you dont get a CEL but even if you do you should be able to clear it

Well if I remember correctly, MA has the 96 and up computer emissions ****, and since my dsm is a 95 it shouldnt be tested for emissions anyways right?

Which reminds me, other than for sound, might a test pipe still get me the evil R? Or should I really just pick up a regular cat converter anyways? I have the test pipe on right now just so I have a complete exhaust, $22 is better than $140 if its sittin in the garage.

it depends on where you go. I had a test pipe but the place i went to never cared about anything. You only need to pass visual inspections since you should be exempt from emmission. But it all depends on where you go if they will look for a cat

awsome, now hopefully I can keep from getting pulled over (then again apparently its not bolted tightly still kinda loose)
