Search the forums. I know weve answered this just recently.

RE: header?
its not called a header. A header is a term used to describe what NA cars use. Its called a tubular manifold. I dont understand why some sites call them headers. Anyways
A couple good types that i know of are DN Performance, Pacesetter, and megan |
RE: header?
EW, TE... Pacesetter? Really? Cmon now...

RE: header?
I have heard stories of tubular exhaust manfiolds cracking. Dont buy any cheap set off ebay. For a good set your going to put putting out at least 300$. I would personally stick with the evo 3 ported manifold.

RE: header?
i remember someone on here had pacesetter and they were fine. I think it was paintball. He didnt have them for very long, be he said they didnt have any leaks when he got them like most cheap manifolds do at the welds

RE: header?
Yeah, tubulars are known to crack. I don't see that being to big of an issue if you've got a conservative tune and the other variable factors in check. That E316G won't crack it. It's not going to flow enough or push enough to make that happen. Large or small turbo, doesn't matter, a tubular will crack if you've got an aggressive tune or you're just unknowingly running lean.
I agree with Antlip, stick with the E3 manifold. It's a velocity (in mind) manifold. Your setup doesn't need a tubular, it's just overkill and may kill your performance because of the lost velocity and pressure...bottom line is, you don't need it at this time. Get one if you like, it's still up to you, I'm just telling you something it seems you may not already know.:) |
