Installing Intake on 06 Galant ES

Hey there, i recently purchased the weapon-r short ram intake. I had no problems figuring out how to remove the stock airbox n other stuff. But im having clearance problems with the new kit.

First it took me a while to wiggle in the tube between the battery and to fit onto the intake manifold. After that everything is fine till the intake filter.

It will not fit with the ECU? next to the drivers side headlight. Having so many clearance problems with a kit specifically designed for my car, 2006 Mitsu Galant ES 4cyl.

Im wondering if anyone else has ran into such problems as this. It got dark before i could try taking off the protective cover for the ECU? and try to make it fit. so i did not continue. I just wanted to get this up ASAP to get others inputs. and to see if anyone had this problem and what they did.

Thank you in advance!

Hello,
Perhaps if you're really in a jam, you could scan the instructions and post them to see if anyone could get a better idea of what the instructions and final set-up looks like.
The system may require you to reposition the ECU which would necessitate the removal of the cover from the ECU so you can disconnect the plugs so as to more easily re-position the ECU out of the way.

If this is the case, there may be bolt heads that look like rivet heads. Slightly file the heads so you can get a grip with vise-grips, or shave a slot on the head so you can get a slot-screwdriver to grip. Since these are actually not rivets, with a little patience & elbow grease, they'll free up.

Hopefully this helps a little; unfortunately we are not familiar with the Weapon-R system.
