Default MAF sensor

Ok so heres the question. I have a Spyder GS with the 4G64. I am looking to get a cold air and to do that I have found that I might have to do it without a MAF. What happens if i do get rid of the MAF? Will it come up with a check engine light? (yeah I know a rare thing my check engine isnt on) I read on a 4G64 website about replacing it with a 1st gen MAF but then you have to change out the ECU and whatever else. I want to get rid of that stock air box.

You have to keep the MAF. It is what reads the air hence Mass Air Flow Sensor. It tells the computer how much fuel to compensate for the air coming in. Now if you want an intake to get rid of the stock air box then you just buy the 2g turbo intake filter and the MAF adapter plate and that will do it

Where can I get one of those. I think I saw one on Hahn Racings site but after a while all those sights all tend to mesh togeather.

Or you could get this adapter

and then buy a filter from anywhere if that ends up being cheaper

NEVER take out your Mass Air Flow sensor. that's a rookie mistake thinking it's not important. Find an adapter plate.

how hard would it be to make an adapter for that. I mean they cost 20$ but I have to make a few other things already. and finding peices to fit this 4g64 are a pain in the A$$ already.
