More **** for my toyota
Yea, I have a 4 cyl in my 94 camry and my air intake has a box hanging down in between the filter and the throttlebody. Reading another thread someone mentioned a resonator box and removing it. Is this also a resonator box? Would it make any difference to remove this box? I've never seen it on any other vehicle I've worked on and the aftermarket intakes I've seen havent had the port to fit this box. Any insight?

Oh I plan on it, I was lookin at a whole Spectre (I think that was the name) air intake kitat autozone. Someone who has it told me they loved it. I know it wont do much for power (nothing can help my toyota ) but at least it aint stock. Until then, from what I've read the camry already has a CAI, and that resonator box is just extra. CouldI simply take out the box and cover the hole on the intake pipe until I can get a decent pipe and cone? Or do you think I'd have problems?

oh, not the stock box for the filter thats not what I meant. Theres a separate box that hangs beneath the pipe, between the throttlebody and the filter. This requires a hole in themiddle of my intake pipe:
Could I cover the hole? make airflow direct rather than having an extra area for air to get caught?

You could plug the hole but you'll run the risk of it not sealing all the way and creating a vacuum leak. Also your pic doesn't work.
Your better off just getting a hard intake pipe.

How does the pic not work? i was just looking at it [sm=dontgetit.gif]. Anyways, yea i was thinking of using a sturdy plastic material and clamp it using the clamp that the box uses, and tape any extra just in case. No leak that way, and you cant even see the ghetto job since the hole is on bottom
Yea i realize that I would be better off getting an aftermarket pipe, its just not in my budget right now. I put my son before my car. When I get the chance I plan on goin with a spectre setup. it's a whole $40.
