Need help with 1993 3000 GT knocking noise

Hello guys, Ok I am sure others have experienced the same problem , went to change spark plugs on a 1993 3000 GT and I think I dropped one of those stupid washers into the intake and the engine has been making a knocking noise. Is there a quicker and cheaper approach to get it out without having to tear the head and the block down. Any help is greatly appreciated. This is crisis . Thanks

Well you may not have actually dropped one in. These engines always develop little ticks in the top of the motor. If you posted a video of the sound I could easily confirm that. Serious problems sounds nothing like that.

Hmmm.

This: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tMLATFQb6s is what lifter tick sounds like. The engine in the video you posted has a serious internal failure.

Hi Sebba,

The problem was a washer that had dropped in cylinder #1. Luckily it was the head at the front of the engine and not the back one, took me a couple of hours and before I took the head apart I used a snake camera and I could see the washer kind of stuck on the piston. when I removed the head it just came right off and luckily no damage was done to the head surface or the valves. magaged to put everything together and I am happy it did not cost me a fortune. Thanks for your help. Atleast others will know to watch out for falling parts especially washers.
