smoke from exhaust

Why would a 1994 Mitsubishi Galant ES let out smoke from exhaust when you step on the gas?

what color smoke. Most likely burning oil

If it's oil it will be more noticeable when first accelerating. It's probably a weak piston ring, valve, or something letting oil into a cylinder. Drain the oil and put in a full synthetic oil like Syntec (Yeah it's not cheap oil). If the smoking stops or drops significantly then it's an oil problem as a full synthetic won't produce hardly any smoke when burned. It's a cheap way to find or eliminate a that possibility.

Blue smoke is oil, white is coolant, and black is fuel.

Hi new here, I have a mitsubishi lancer 93 model. Same problem with my car. It produces white smoke. But I can't hardly distinguish if white or blue. But sometimes it produces lot of smoke, sometimes no smoke at all. What could be the first step to do? I had a change oil I think this February or march with a semi synthetic oil. Any tips?

Get a long stick while car is in park...Press the Crap out of the accelerator and it will show...If not that then do a Load test-Basically just drive up a hill and accelerate rapidly.

I personally would do a compression test, also check your oil and coolant levels too.

I bet there is no oil
