White Smoke
I have a 1.8Litre Mitsubishi Lancer (1998) and i have just change the engine oil myself. While filling the engine oil, i accidentally dripped some on the extractors??? (i don't know what they are called but it is the four metal pipes that are connected to a metal plate that say "hot! Do not Touch" that is infront of the engine.) After I finished up with the oil change and started the engine, white smoke can be seen fromthe four metal pipes and smell like something is burning even though I have clean up the spill. Anyone please advise me?

RE: White Smoke
Its just the exhaust. Thats all it is. When it burns off, the smoke will stop. Not to worry

RE: White Smoke
Yeah u just spilled oil on the heat sheild for the exhaust manifold. Like sebba said let it run and burn it will burn off.

RE: White Smoke
Hi Sebba,
The white smoke appear from the 4 metal pipes located infront of the engine not from the exhaust. Just to confirm is it whether is it still ok to drive? |
RE: White Smoke
Those 4 pipes are your exhaust headers.
