RE: why eclipse is running hot
Look it sounds to me from all of these rediculous threads you are posting everywhere that you have alot of issues (some may even be related). And now your giving us different information than what you just gave us in the last thread about the speed sensor. In the last one you said that you couldnt find the wire. Now your saying you have a wire where the harness doesnt work

i have lots of issuses about the eclipsei have .....i will give u all the stuffs i change in the engine ok and my vehicle infor 1997 mitsubishi eclipse GS, 420a , AUTO when i bought it .....the trans given me a problem so i swap the trans to manual ...now of course the auto trans wiring harness doesnt workandalso i couldn't find the next wires that suppose to hanging lose somewhere in the engine ......that is why my speedo doesnt work ....... |
RE: why eclipse is running hot
ok from what hes told me he swapped trannies, from auto to manual, 420a engine, he says it works completely fine... problem is when he downshifts... specially from 4th to 3rd gear... the car would completely shut down.
Does manual and auto use a diff ecu or it could be part of the wiring harness? |
RE: why eclipse is running hot
Get a matching harness from the donor car to get the speed sensor to work. Your ECU is seeing nothing. It's not what gear you go into that's important, it's what the ECU needs to do to see and it needs to see the raw voltage which translates into RPMs. Get that fixed and you shouldn't have anymore issues with that.
As mentioned by HandyMan, your temp is normal. If the engine bay seems hotter than usual, it is because of the headers. Don't judge engine temp by engine bay temp. Your temp gauge is telling everything you need to know and it says it feels fine. Last thing, stick with one story, it's hard to discern one truth if there are several "truths". |
RE: why eclipse is running hot
if the car is running hotter than you are use to seeing buy some thermal wrap and wrap your header. the under the hood temp will drop.
