fiberglass work
OK here's the thing. As some of you know, I'm currently workin on a design for Mits and I wanna do some custom fiberglass work. Does anyone have any experience with that kinda thing? I got the basics down, build the frame, cover it with the cloth, coat it with resin, sand it, recoat, resand, primer, paint. Am I missing anything? I want my design to be kickass. Oh, and if you didn't know about my project, check in the general chat.

RE: fiberglass work
Yeah... you want advice? Dont use fiberglass. It sucks. Constant cracking of paint and layers. Its bull****. As soon as you go 70+ the air resistance causes flex... causing cracks.

RE: fiberglass work
Well I'm thinking for interior, not body. Custom audio housing, just to give it a little of my own touch. As far as the body goes, I want it to keep the look of the eclipse, so I'll prolly just add the carbon fiber tips. Working fiberglass for the body kit.... WAY too complex for my simple brain. But thanks for lettin me know about that.

I was thinking about the same thing. Making a new false back in the trunk. I want to mount subs there or maybe just one sub. I dont know. I also want to make a new consoule(sp?) one that deletes the ashtay and someother things and changes the placement of the radio.

RE: fiberglass work

I was thinking of tackling that myself.. Keep us updated on how things turn out..

RE: fiberglass work
yes you are missing the bondo filler work. I am also currently building my own full custom sound system with fiberglass. Let me know how yours turns out
