Accesssory Socket polarity reversed WARNING!
 

I bought a USB adapter that plugs in the accessory socket (forward of the gear shift) of my Outlander, but found two of the adapters didn't work. There was voltage at the socket, but it was reversed - center was negative, outer was positive. This apparently blew up the two USB adapters. Only way I could see to fix it was cut the two wires and switch them around. Once I did that another adapter worked fine.

Strange!

(The socket in the arm rest was fine.)
