Hey Guys bought a non running 95 mirage ls for $200 i took out the motor to do an overhaul but im new to this i know i need to take the block to get it resurface all around and after that i need the bearings for the crankshaftand new pistons . i dont know what to do im doing pretty much stock on it no aftermarket parts on it need help on getting diameters for the rods,crank,and and piston bores help is greatly appreciated

 

why do you need new pistons, Maybe rings but unless the pistons are damaged they should be fine.

As far as everything else, yes you need the main and rod bearings. Also i would go to mitsubishi and get a complete engine overhaul kit. It will come with EVERY gasket on the engine. That way you just replace them as necessary.

Also what do you mean by needing to have the whole block resurfaced. All you need to do is resurface the top of the block for the head gasket and then hone the cylinders. For all this stuff you just need to look online and find how to's. You can rent a cylinder honer at autozone for free. For all the parts i strongly suggest the dealer.
