built *** 420a need answer
ok my engines ben done for awhile and i've ben talking about it off and on and now i finally have my eclipse with me and the 420a engine why i built the 420a insted of a 4g63 i dont know why guess im stupid so dont ask about that but the engine is fully built except for the crank winsco stock size pistons eagle rods new rod bearing main bearings water pump oil pump and all new gaskets and a cosmetic head gasket arp head studs new vavles crower springs and retainers stage 3 crower cam shafts and a stage three port and polish on the head now my biggest wonder because i keep hearing diffrent words about it is that since its got stage three cams does it HAVE to be turbo charged or can i run it for like a month with out a turbo on it the engines goin in this week so i want to try and get it running by this weekend so if anyone has stage three cams in there car or knows someone running stage three cams is it safe without a turbo even though the cams are sucking so much air?

wow! 280's... i ddin't know they made those for the 420a. as a matter of fact the only company i knew made them for street cars was GSC's cams for the EVO. i'd definatly suggest throwing your turbo on there asap, only b/c you aren't gettting any gain from them right now. but once you throw a turbo on there, hold on! what compression pistons did you get?

no, can't be done, not w/o spending about 6k fo the conversion not including price of the engine.
