Default 1999 3000gt VR-4

I am looking at a 1999 3000gt vr4. The car only has 30,000 miles on it. The guy I would buy it from is giving me a really good deal, but I do not know much about the car. My father used to have a 1991 stealth r/t so I know the basics of the car, but can anyone please tell me anything they can about the car, reliability, comfort, cost of driving, perfromance, weak points and strong points, ANY information at all will be very helpful!!!

THANK YOU

The 3000GT are fast becoming a collector's item. VR-4's even moreso. This being a 1999, the last year they were sold, makes it even more desirable. The original sticker for that car is somewhere around $48,000. I saw one at a dealer a few months ago with 37M miles. He was asking for the original sticker price.

There are many clubs you can join for people with 3000GT's. Buy it! And enjoy the ride!

ive got a 99 vr-4 and it is true its better than sex.. everyone on the road stares at it and asks questions, i bought mine about 2 yrs ago for 22k at that time i thought was a pretty good deal and ive heard they still go for 20-25k... mine is completly stock,, and flawless,, its still pretty fast car these days and with a few mods it will keep up with anything else on the road for the next few yrs ...i recently destroyed a carrera with my buddy inside with me and the guy in the porsche drove by and gave me the thumbs up. then another day i pulled up to a guy in a 355 and told him i liked his car he turned to me and said youve got a sweet ride yourself...ive also heard of similar production numbers of 285 produced and somethin as crazy as only 45 sold in the US...technology in the car is damn near pre historic compared to what is available now days but my argument is i can go to a lot and buy a new car but to find a 99 vr4 takes lot of patience and cash.. took me about a yr to find one with low mil... and with a little luck i finally did find one... another plus is that the car is still way too expensive for some terd to get his hands on so chances are there havnt been too many owners to any single 99 vr4...parked next to it in my garage i have an fd that i use to mod... i tell you what that car is vicious on the road... anyone who likes 3000gt cars is pobably a huge fan of most other supercars that came over from japan in the 90's many of those cars are discontinued becasue they were ahead of their time and were way too expensive to sell...i would suggest buying the veh and never to sell it i do belive that the car will be a collectors item and for gods sake dont mod it to the point that you will ruin the integrity of the componets... sooner than later i will add a boost controller, BOV and maybe a few other insignificant things to keep up with the jones's.. i love my vr-4 and so does everyone else... even after nearly 10yrs of the stealth and 3000gt the 99 vr4 is still the most sought after model. by the time the 99 came out it was known it would be the last yr and they went out with a bang all the snags in the earlier yrs were worked out cosmetically looks much better than any other yr... however the car is a whale its long and wide and well you know what they say about drivers and the vehs that they own

you have to give mitsubishi a hand all 3000nds are way ahead of their time as compared to almost every car in its time. i love mine and plan on keeping it for a long while. i have had mine for about 2 and a half years now and it took some work to make it mechanically good again but it was worth the money, time, and frustration. good luck with yours, to the both of you.

very true....when I had mine rebuilt after the accident the bodyman told me something i found to be pretty funny...

there are 23 bolts that hold the front end together on a 3000GT.....

wanna guess how many hold a 2005 ford mustang together?....2....along with some clips...

pretty funny i thought...
