98 - 3000GT will not crank.
Have a 98' 3000gt (SOHC) that will not start. - Car shut off at an off ramp towed it home and found that the ECI fuse was blown. Put a new fuse in car and it cranked. Put new wires and plugs on car, However, put wrong wires on the car so they didn't give me a new coil wire. car ran great better that before or least for 2 days. went off in the car came home pulled in driveway and the car shut off and has not cranked again. (no spark) I thought it was ignition coil because it looked as though the wires had gotten hot and melted the plastic around them. so I bought a new one put it on the car and realized coil wire was bad so I put a new one on the car. there is power per a test light going into the new ignition coil but not out of it. there is still no spark at at coil wire, I do not smell gas. I have checked and the ECI fuse has not blown again. looked at computer and it does not smell but have not opened it and looked at caps. does anyone have any idea what might be wrong? Not sure if if could be the crank angle senor or if it is the computer. Maybe someone out there will know what the problem is. Thanks.

Seriously... please refrain from attempting to help people. You will only confuse and misslead.
Ok wires dont get that hot unless there is an electrical fault. I would think that it was a short or something like that. Your coil pack is fried for one. Check to see if you have blown any fuses also. It is possible it could be your crank angle sensor but i think the others are more likely.

I just put a new ignition coil on the car. and I checked all the fuses under the hood in the fuse box and none were blown. I did think about the distributor but if no spark was going through the coil I didn't think the problem would be to the distributor yet. Am I correct?
