FAILED Smog- black/blue smoke
Hello All,
I need some advice. I have a 1993 3000gt. I was having issues with hesistation around 2500-4000rpms. Last Weekend, I replaced the spark plugs, wires, and fuel filter. Also put some fuel injector cleaner through gas tank. Now the car runs great. However, I need to pass smog to register. Everything passed except the visual. black/blue smoke comes out when you hit the gas while car is at idle. so they failed it. I'm in California. I went and got an oil change and put an oil treatment through it and ran it a couple days. I still have the smoke coming out. they wont pass it. They said they could charge me $105 to check the pcv thing and all that but said it's more than likely burning oil deep in the engine. odometer broker at 135k, not sure of actual milage. what should I do. I'm looking into a new engine and cost to install or maybe rebuild it. any thoughts on the smoke? all opinions greatly appreciated. |
