3000gt
I have owned a '94 3000GT for 9 years. I love it! No serious mechanical proplems to 180000 miles and counting except replacement of the valve guide seals to eliminate smoke after idle for a few minutes. Working on this car is not like working on a Dodge Demon, Slant-6 but with decent documentation - It make you feel good to work on these '90s high-tech' engines. (Advice - Don't let your buddies borrow it!)

Dubbed the "Poor mans Ferrari"
I have a 1999 3000 GT SL, and I love it. Since I lowered it 2" in the front and 1.5"in the rear it handles more like a $100K Corvette. It handled pretty good before, but on real tight turns you would get some body roll and the occasional lifting of the rear tire on the other side. Unless you get a VR4 model you won't be winning any street races unless you get boosted or have a NOS system installed and put her fat *** on a diet getting her GVW much lower than the standard 4200 lbs. Like any car on the road they can be problematic if you don't service them regularly and do any repairs needed. The only real problem I had so far was it would die randomly while driving as if the key had been shut off. I traced the problem back to a spade connection in the fuse block that controlled ignition / ECU. After I replaced that it's been 100 % reliable. The hardest part of working on therm for me has been replacing the timing belt, rear spark plugs, and anything on the front of the engine like serpentine belt etc. Mainly because the front of engine is damn near touching the inside of the fender wells and sub frame. But you can't go wrong if you get one since they're becoming more scarce and will be worth more to collectors as time goes on.

Love it but make sure you have the right Tires
I’ve had my 1998 Mitsubishi 3000 GT SL for 11 years. I love it but don’t drive it everyday. It has around 76,000 on it now. In the beginning my tires always made a weird noise. I think they were snow tires or something but once I changed the tires at Wygul Automotive in Reston, Virginia my car was very reliable. I rarely have any problems and very comfortable too. The most I ever spent on this car was for a water pump. Great pickup if you turn economy button off. You must always use premium gas. I would love to have the VR4. However, I heard you could have problems even though VR4 has more power. I love how the car is low to the ground. It handles curves and road really good. Sometimes people offer to buy it but I don’t want to sell especially since it’s going to be an antique soon . I highly recommend this car.
