Default Stock 1995 3000GT VR-4. Help with performance upgrades.

I want to increase the HP of my car and want to do it safely. What upgrades are the biggest bang for the buck and still safe for the motor. I had a friend that incresed the boost of his turbos and fried the motor. I know increasing boost is the easiest but I think there are some other things that need to be done at the same time to keep the motor healthy. What are your suggestions...

I would have to say, with it being a turbo car the best bang for the buck will be a full exhaust. Dowpipe, remove or highflow cats, and cat-back, that with a intake will be your best and safest. How high did "Your friend" raise his boost. You can safely raise the tt's to about 14-15psi and run that all day and night with no problems. The one thing you'll have to relies is there is no safe mod for a turbo car, something can always go wrong.
