Default stupid question

probably the worst but is it possible to put supercharge and a turbo? If the supercharger goes into the intake and the turbo to the exhust?

No "Procharging" refers to a getting your car supercharged by the ProCharger company. Their superchargers are centrifugal instead of roots type which means less heat and more power and more reliability. ProCharger is considered the best in the Supercharging biz. Turbo'ing and Supercharging your car is a cool idea because it would allow for some insane power outputs. Think about this...the larger the turbo, the longer it is going to take to spool up on the same displacement engine, than a smaller one due to the fact that it is being driven by the exhaust gases. Before you hit boost your engine can only put out so much exhaust gases based on compression ratio, engine size etc etc. That is why if people try to run bigger turbo's on the 3/s they tend to lean towards boring out the engine to a 3.1 or 3.15L engine. If you supercharge, you get your power immediately which means your exhaust gases will be being pushed out harder and faster as if you had alot bigger engine...theoretically this means you could run a bigger turbo and still have it spool up within a useful range. However here lies the problem. You have to get your system set up to the point where when the turbo starts spooling, that the supercharger shuts off because you obviously can't be dumping 14psi from your supercharger + an additional 20psi or so from your turbo into your engine at the same time or you will blow your car sky high. That happened to a kid I know. He had a civic which he got supercharger and turbo'd. He was on the dyno trying to get the thing tuned right and he revved it a few times and his setup wasn't working properly and he blew his engine up. He actually managed to crack the block. I mean the system could work and could be incredible but then again you have got to realize that it is tricky and if your setup malfunctions at any time you could potentially have 35-40psi of compressed air being dumped into your engine. If you want to go with this setup then by all means don't stop but definitely do your research first. Hope this helps....anybody feel free to correct me if I am wrong too. Peace

They did that to an STi also, it wasn't really impressive. It would have net a higher dyno with a larger single turbo. It is something impressive to see, but it doesn't always work.
